Click here to purchase your copy today! Very proud to announce that a new children’s book is now available, featuring my illustrations. Written by a lovely lady in Toronto, Donna Koffman shares the story of her autistic grandson and his best friend, with help from her co-author Dr. Lawrence Segel. Kooper’s tale gains its origins from the real life difficulties that face her grandson Reese, who has severe non-verbal autism. Not understanding the world as we do, Reese has no concept of the dangers that can await him when he runs off. All he wants is to run, play, and be free to explore. But busy roads, unseen hazards, and getting lost are all potential threats. What Reese needs is a friend who understands, and can help him in that very special way that only a highly trained professional knows how – and that’s where Kooper comes in. The story is told in a fun, engaging way, and teaches young children what Kooper’s role is as a service dog, and what that means for Reese and his family. With plenty of bright and colourful pictures to help tell the story, Donna and Dr. Segel hope to educate, inform, and warm hearts with their wonderful book. Friday 3rd March - Sunday 5th March 2017 The Arts Council of New Westminster in partnership with Royal City Farmers Market are hosting a group exhibition during the 2017 British Columbia Association of Farmers Markets. I'll be exhibiting some collages from my latest collection, "At the Market" alongside some amazing and talented local artists. Come down to the River Market in New Westminster from 3rd - 5th March to see an array of delicious, food-themed art, and support local producers at the farmer's market. Lots to see, try and buy! I am so proud to announce that my poem "All that had fallen" has been awarded second prize by the Poetry Institute of Canada in their annual anthology. I woke up this morning to a phone call with the news, and it put a spring in my step for the whole day - what a great start to the year!
The anthology, due to be released February of this year, had already chosen my poem to be featured back in August. But they also had a contest out of all the poets chosen, and decided on the winners this week. I was surprised they chose my work, it is a little on the spooky side. But very happy with the result! As soon as the anthology comes out, I will put up the Amazon link for those interested in buying. Thank you to everyone for your kind words and support, I am even more excited now to write and create more this year. Happy 2017! |
