a friendly gesture can go a long way on a bad day...

still experimenting with ways to colour my images, i like this one but something gets lost in translation when i redraw my line art in photoshop over top of the pencil...i'll keep trying. you can see the original sketch for this illustration up on the sketches page

This is a page from the book I made for my great grandad when my great nan passed away. It was just a few things about her that we all loved, like how she was always in the kitchen and how she knitted sweaters and cardigans for everyone.
I gave the book to him for christmas and I think he really liked it. nana polly was a swell gal.

if you haven't already, go check out my other site peter and the wolf for more stuff like this, plus writing about our time in Vancouver.

This weekend i finally got to spend time with my lovely boyfriend, after not seeing him for about 3 weeks. Despite not having very much to do, the weather being lousy and not having a car, we managed to have a great weekend. My favourite had to be our walk over the hills across the river at twilight, it was beautiful, and a bit of bad weather at this time of year only adds to the experience. it was perfect.
so here's to my man, you sure know how to give a girl a good time... thank you for my book, you're the best :)

i thought about this image for a while, i had quite a few ideas i wanted to try out. my first decision was to draw pete and i beneath an umbrella, after we went out to town in the rain. but the image didn't really flow from me, so i thought about other things. beneath the stars, beneath the trees, beneath the ground...i had a dream that i was queen of an underground settlement hidden from a zombie apocalypse... then this image entered my head out of nowhere, and i thought it'd be quite original.

not sure what she's doing, maybe checking she remembered the garter...
